Ruppy’s a nice guy with a passion for creativity, and you’ve probably seen his work before as he’s been the mastermind behind plenty of amazing gym badges, maybe even including what you’ve earned so far. Wanting to take his creative talents to the next level, he’s asking challengers to help design the very teams they’ll face! As much as the idea sounds like a double-edged sword, Ruppy sees value in keeping things new and interesting, wanting to see how challengers will react in the face of such a unique concept. If you can overcome your own creation, you’ll be rewarded not only with his custom-made Designer Badge, but also a special gift in the form of the Champion’s Memento for all your efforts in challenging the League!

Maxie, Ex-Magma Boss

 After the events with Primal Groudon he decided to retire as the leader of Team Magma and try to get more in tune with his home and the Pokemon that lived there. He left behind everything but his trusty Camerupt and left to explore Hoenn in search of new Pokemon and to train in the art of double battles. With his new companions he quickly rose to be a unstoppable force in battle. Eventually he grew tired of effortlessly winning and left Hoenn in search of new, stronger challengers. That is when he turned his sights on the PAX Pokemon League. Maxie prides himself on fighting only with Pokemon from Hoenn, so a knowledge of the Hoenn Dex will be your best advantage. Defeat Maxie and obtain the Magma Emblem!

Mondo, the Earth Bender of the East

Some gym leaders are made, others are born. In Mondo’s case, it’s hard to say: he was orphaned by his parents in the Austrian Alps, and found by a quartet of Norwegian backpackers. They formally adopted him, bringing him back home to Vossevangen where they raised him among the fjords of Norway. He has only ever known the mountains, their majesty, and their resistance to the elements. Impressed at such an early age by alpine environments, he trains with some of the strongest Pokemon that, like him, feel both grounded and resist the elements. While not solitary, Mondo exhibits aloofness that masks incredibly deep thought processes. Grown from the mountains, Mondo is no pushover.
