Hiyoko, the High-Flying Hunter-Gatherer!

Hiyoko Tosaka is a junior and the lone human student at St. Pigeonation’s Institute, a school for pigeons. During her summer break, she decided to take a trip and see the world a little bit…maybe she would find some delicious udon, or battle a worthy opponent in a halberd fight! She ended up in a weird land with birds that didn’t speak English or Japanese like the pigeons back home did. She also found out that she can only battle others by catching these birds and other creatures. With her hunter-gatherer blood boiling, she reluctantly swapped out her halberd for Poké Balls and decided to make a team of bird Pokémon that reminded her of her dear friends at St. Pigeonation’s. She was determined to make this the strongest team that anyone has ever seen!

Haga-P, Producer of the Poke-Band

Producer Haga (Haga-P for short) is a freelance music creator that is always looking for a new type of music. During a slump period in his composition, Haga-P comes up with an idea when he saw a video of Pokémon in the Galar region. Haga-P got inspired to make a Pokémon band, seeing the possibilities of creating music that humans alone cannot create. While he still had the idea about the band and its music, Haga-P left for the Wild Area, to scout musically talented Pokémon. While teaching music to the Pokémon, Haga-P realized that these Pokémon had a talent in Pokémon battling as well. And the news of the PAX Pokémon League reached Haga-P, he knew what this meant. It was the chance to show the world his Pokémon’s talents, both in battling and music. The Poke-Band featuring Haga-P will be makings its debut in the PAX Pokémon League!

Aidan, The Dragon Master

Growing up Aidan has always admired dragons. Dragons were a big part of his life and the culture he grew up with. Even his middle name meaning “rising dragon”. The admiration of dragons resulted in him using a team of dragons to get through many battles and progress far with them. If you survive the power of dragons you’ll earn yourself the Salamence Type emblem.

Lunella, The Lunar Stargazer

When Lunella’s first Pokémon evolved into an Umbreon, she delved head first into all aspects of the night. She learned my about the Dark type and its sinister beauty. She then looked to the sky and saw other beautiful sights to behold: the moon and its mysterious worshipers, the stars, the SHOOTING stars, and all of the creatures that come out at night.  She befriended many of them, building strong friendships and brilliant tactics. She now arrives at the Pax Pokémon League, eager to share her findings with curious challengers far and wide.

Lunella uses Dark and nocturnal Pokémon. Fairy and Fighting types are sure to shine a bright light on her to earn you the Nocturnal Badge.

Doomybot, the PPL Doomemebot

Seemingly appearing randomly, a strange being started to spread q̶u̶e̶s̶t̶i̶o̶n̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ fun memes and c̶u̶r̶s̶e̶d̶ blessed images throughout the PPL server. Coined ¿lovingly? by the PPL community, the being’s name was now doomybot. But sharing fun was not enough, doomybot wanted to join in on what the PPL was really about! And so, doomybot has brought forth and materialized pokemon that were spawned straight from the PPL server itself. Some that live in the server as emotes, some that were the product of a community game night. No one really knows what doomybot’s true purpose is or where doomybot came from, but it seems doomybot is here to stay. Perhaps the correct question for doomybot is not “who” or “what”, but”why”.

The King of Winter, the Bringer of the Storm

My dear sweet summer child,
What do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snow falls one hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night. When the sun hides. That is the time for fear.
The frost came not so long ago and froze us solid.

Lionheart is often considered one of the greatest Magi to ever travel the realm of Vellara, rising through the ranks quickly and protecting the lands from dark and villainous Magi and dangerous creatures of all shapes and sizes using his powerful magic. One day, after fending off an attack from the Silver Dragon, Lionheart found himself being sucked through the very portal he was trying to keep the beast from accessing, ending up in another world where he discovered creatures called Pokémon that possessed abilities similar to the magic he wielded. Curious about this new realm and the challenges it presented, Lionheart gathered Pokémon that represented the various clans of his homeland to guide him in his journey to return home.

Loopy, the Poke-Cosplayer

While journeying through the Rock Tunnel of Kanto, Loopy ran into Pokémaniacs Steve and Cooper where he learned about Pokémon Cosplaying, or crafting costumes based on a trainer’s favorite Pokémon! Excited about this new way to strengthen the bond between a Trainer and their Pokémon, Loopy journeyed to the Kalos region to learn more about Pokémon Showcases and to hone his skill in both creating cosplays and battling alongside his Pokémon. While he awaits his first debut season in the Showcase circuit, Loopy is bringing his powerful Pokémon to defend the Crafting badge in any weather!

After hearing the success of his cousin Klara, TohruChu wanted to try his hand at the gym challenge. A veteran NASA geologist who has spent many years working with his Pokémon teammates to explore the reaches of the galaxy, Perseverance is a leading expert on extraterrestrial Pokémon life. His research eventually caught the attention of the League and received an invitation to join them and demonstrate the fruits of his knowledge. Perseverance gladly accepted the chance to do some new field research and took a sabbatical to battle challengers as a proud League member.

Following PAX East 2020, Volcanus traveled the world to catch/collect more Pokémon He is coming back this year with an assortment of the hottest and coolest Pokémon he was able to wrangle. In battle, he will show off some of the coolest tricks he has ever performed.

Volcanus is known for burning his opponents, but this time you might get frozen instead! Rocks of all shapes and sizes should be able to stop the onslaught.

Drak Sky, the Daring Dragoon

Drak Sky has returned from his family business of dragon taming. He has moved to the Galar region in pursuit of knowledge of new and more powerful dragons to tame and learn from. Through his travels he encountered Dynamax Pokémon. At first he was scared but then it struck him. Who would protect the people from these rampaging Pokémon? Drak and his partner thus took up arms and formed the very first family of Dragoons to protect from the rampaging Pokémon, named after his partner Dragoon.

Nathaniel was an archaeologist studying ancient cultures and how they interacted with Pokémon on a daily basis. One day, he disappeared while investigating ruins near the Unova region. No word was heard until a year later, when he suddenly reappeared alongside the descendants of Pokémon from a tribe know for their close bonds with Psychic types. He now works with said Pokémon to help people understand what life was like before the advent of technology and to bring some ancient battle techniques to light!

Owner of a popular tavern with ties to many adventurers guilds, Quest papers started to stack up in the main drinking hall of Ian’s tavern. Faced with the sheer volume of papers stacked from floor to ceiling, A call was made, a wizard hired, and a portal opened up in the halls of the Pax Pokémon League where challengers are invited to take on one of his many quests, challenging his parties for the reward, the questing badge! Come raise a glass and see what Ian has in store!

Due to a miscalculation and a rift in Space Bridge travel has brought the Decepticon communications expert to land in an unfamiliar region in time and space. Soundwave and his army of mini-cassettes will need adapt to their new appearances and roles in this new secret recon mission.

MacDuff, the Furtive Heritor

MacDuff is from a lineage of lords and nobles in the Galar region. The family is historically known for its prowess in royal tournaments and the training of Pokémon and knights of eld. He is considered the black sheep of the family given his proclivity towards using dark types and his sly and guileful tactics in battle. He is proud of his heritage, but does not comply with the family’s noble aesthetics or demeanor.

MacDuff uses dark types. Use fairy and fighting types to clear them away.

Gus, the Bug Creep

After being rejected by humans, Gus went to the Viridian forest to clear his head. He sat down by a tree, and after some minutes, bug type Pokémon came near him and lay down with him. After that, he had no doubts that bugs were better than people. He moved into a treehouse in the forest and sought to be the best bug type trainer!

Gus uses bug types! Hit him with fire attacks to get the upper wing!

From the shores of Alola to Galar’s freezing tundra, Cedar has spent years travelling to each and every region. Studying the local economy, landscape and of course the Pokémon! Regional variations a plenty to choose from, he has spent years training up regional Pokémon trying to understand how they’ve developed over time as and how they compare among themselves. Now he’s looking for the ultimate trial and error: to find pulse pounding challengers that will push these Pokémon to their limits!
