Did *you* have a particularly exciting battle with a PAX Pokemon Gym Leader? Please tell us about it!
Today’s move is perfect for catching ’em all:
This move always leaves the opponent with at least 1 hit point remaining.
If you know today’s move, present a pokemon that knows it to Elite Four Members Sorrel or Darren. They can be found around PAX, or at the Handheld Lounge Meetups at 3pm.
Love is in the air with today’s move:
This move makes an opponent of the opposite gender infatuated with the user, possibly preventing them from acting.
If you know today’s move, present a pokemon that knows it to Elite Four Members Sorrel or Darren. They can be found around PAX, or at the Handheld Lounge Meetups at 3pm and 6pm.
This move raises the user’s attack and accuracy by one stage.
If you know today’s move, present a pokemon that knows it to Elite Four Members Sorrel or Darren. They can be found around PAX, or at the Handheld Lounge Meetups at 3pm and 6pm.
Handheld Lounge meetup times for PPL South are as Follows:
Friday – 3pm & 6pm
Saturday – 3pm & 6pm
Sunday – 3pm
On Sunday, at 6:31 PM after PAX officially closes, come to the lobby of the Grand Hyatt (right next to the convention center!) for the
Gym leaders, Elite Four, and Challengers will mingle and battle! Maybe pick up a few of the badges you missed, get to know your fellow Pokemaniacs, and just generally have a good time! Plus, challengers who beat the Champion can come here to show off the teams that brought them to the Hall of Fame!
Propriety here, with some bad news, trainers: Hiker Bill was skiing in the mountains (no we are not kidding, he is truly committed to the outdoor life of a hiker!) and he dislocated his kneecap, chipping a bone in his knee. He’s had to have surgery, and unfortunately he is unable to make the hike out to PAX South. 🙁 We will miss him and wish him a speedy recovery.
All is not lost, however! Hiker Bill has entrusted his badges to Elite Four Member Darren and Elite Four Member Sorrel, who have concocted a plan. Ask them for details on how to show you’re worthy of the Beard Badge!
Also, remember that there are bonus badge opportunities to help you collect your eight badges!
Remember, the Pokemon League challenge is often full of challenges and surprises, but the important thing is to have fun! Good luck, trainers!

To help challengers on their way to the Elite Four, PPL South is offering extra badges for other activities in addition to battling Gym Leaders.
First up, help spread the word about the PPL at PAX South and earn yourself the Network Badge! Challengers just need to take a picture of themselves holding their Trainer Card and upload it to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any other social media network with the hashtags #PAXSouth and #PAXPokemon to receive the Network Badge!
Our second bonus badge is the Technical Badge! Each day of PAX, we’ll be posting a special clue describing a pokemon move taught by a Technical Machine here on PAXPokemonLeague.net. Figure out which move it is and present a pokemon that knows that day’s move to receive the Technical Badge!
MrAGeezie was the worst cadet of his boot camp class. Even after graduating, he was nicknamed “Karp” and forced to babysit his unit’s Magikarp, which some cruel soldiers kicked around when they were bored. He felt animosity toward Magikarp as a reflection of his own weakness and abuse, but liked the fact someone respected and needed him. A year later, their unit was sent on a critical mission. After an ambush, MrAGeezie’s unit was wiped out except for him and Magikarp. While wandering through the sand, he eventually passed out from the desert sun. MrAGeezie spoke what he thought were his last words to the pokeball, telling Magikarp not to worry; someone would find him and take care of him. Suddenly, Magikarp freed himself and splashed MrAGeezie until he came to. As he woke, all MrAGeezie could remember were the words of another cadet, Surge: “Pokémon are the best soldiers you could ask for, and even better comrades.” MrAGeezie pressed on, and was rescued by another unit. He worked his way up the ranks in the military and as a trainer, remembering Surge’s words. Now known as General GZ and champion of the PAX South Pokemon League, he eagerly awaits any and all challengers that want to test their team and enter the Hall of Fame!
A Houston native who settled down in Johto, O’Dell “Dizzy Dell” Harmon has traveled the world searching for Pokémon that share his passion for battles and family. One fateful day after moving to Johto, he received a baby Cyndaquil, and the flames on his back sparked a fascination with fire types and hip-hop music. Dell became an urban recording artist and battler, specializing in fire types that “spit that hot fire” just like he does when recording a new song or having a freestyle battle. Dell often gives away free tickets to anyone who can beat him in a battle, and after 10 different Gym Leaders failed to win free tickets to his sold out show in Houston, he was approached by the PPL to battle as one of its Elite Four at South. It’s going to take a strong bond with your Pokémon and much more than water to stand the heat and earn a Spitfire Emblem!
