From a young age Hunter was always focused on becoming a top notch photographer, and over time he found it was the subject of Pokémon that captured his imagination. He took his first photography job as an assistant with the Lental Research Team. Through his time there he developed strong friendships with the Pokémon on the islands and now they join him to battle in the PAX Pokémon League!

I’ve always romanticized the idea of leaving home and starting fresh somewhere else. Well, I did that and realized it can be hard work! To be honest, I did that a few times…but my Pokémon are still pretty strong! I caught them after I saw them from my bedroom window. I’ll show you the strength of not going very far from home!

Princess Peach, Ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom!

Princess Peach has done it all; while reigning over the Mushroom Kingdom she has become a seasoned kart racer, a skilled multi-sport athlete, a nurturing nurse-turned-doctor, and an excellent pastry chef. Now, she is adding a new title to her impressive resumé: Pokémon Elite Four member! Towards the end of her excursion throughout various kingdoms, she ended up in a completely different “kingdom” called Galar. Peach loved finding many different types of Pokémon, and she especially became fond of cute and magical Fairy and Psychic-type Pokémon. She decided to make an impressive team filled with them and join the PAX Pokémon League as an elite leader. She is ready to charm any and all challengers with her lovely and elegant Fairy and Psychic Pokémon!

After having another ‘mysterious vacation’ away from society, Rune has developed a fascination with fairy folk lore. This year at PAX Aus they’ll be showing off the goblin, gnomes and sprites of old legends they’ve found travelling the world of Pokémon, just try to to be too enchanted in battle.

Growing up in Kanto Yoshua was always in the shadow of his older brother. To escape this shadow Yoshua’s adventures lead him to some of the coldest far of reaches of the world where he grew stronger Now with PAX Australia 2021 Yoshua has returned to civilization to prove He is just as good a Gym leader as his brother!

Yoshi, the Oceanic Creature!

Yoshi was once a successful Wing Gym Leader. He didn’t win too much and didn’t lose too much. With his success, his boss was proud of him. One day, when Yoshi was about to go home, his boss’ assistant came up to him and took all of his Pokémon; telling him “your Pokémon are strong and successful and can be useful in our business”. Poor Yoshi had lost his Pokemon.He was beaten by many a Pokémon trainer and he can no longer trust people. With all the money he had left, he went to a sushi place to relax and calm his his emotions. Whilst eating sushi, something caught his eye. It was a fish being cut up by human. It is obvious that this was going as to happen as this was a sushi place; but the cutting up of this fish mirrored his own situation.  He has a light bulb moment. “That’s it! I am Sushi and Sushi is me!” He quickly paid his check, and ran out the store. With the last of his money, he bought Pokéball and went to catch the all oceanic creatures he could find.

Now he will rise up again, and will be waiting for the challengers to challenge him to win the Sushi Badge!

Goh, the Master Catcher!

Meet Goh, a 10 year old trainer from Vermillion City! He’s on a journey to one day fulfil his dream to catch Mew. This weekend, our hero has volunteered to be part of the PAX Pokémon League, an event where trainers of every skill level have gathered to entertain others in a mock Pokémon League.

Repto, the Goofy Dragon!

Repto loves all things fun and always wants to include everyone. Usually when battling, he’s either seen singing or dancing. He sees the challengers almost always use the same kinds of Pokémon over the years, so he decided that he’d give some others a chance! Everyone knows how powerful dragons such as Salamence or Dragonite are, but he wants to prove that all dragons can join in on the fun. Repto wants to show that just because a certain species of Pokémon isn’t as popular, does not mean that they are weak and should never see a battle.

After I used my psychokinesis power to block a hyper beam from a wild Gyarados, psychic Pokémon that witnessed this incident started surrounding me as if I am their master. And a staff of the PAX Pokémon League was seeing the same thing, and scouted me to be a psychic type gym leader, thinking I am a very strong psychic trainer. Good grief, I didn’t know what was going on with me but I took that offer, for it seemed to be the safest choice (and the staff gave me coffee jelly too, a person that gives coffee jelly to a stranger must be a good person). It’s better than trying to teleport without thinking and ending up in a more dangerous environment, right? These incidents happened accidentally, but I will fulfil my job, and I am not going to lose easily.”

Miss Mollie, the Marvellous Meowth Minder!

When trainers go on holiday, someone needs to look after their Pokémon. In Turffield, Miss Mollie runs a cattery dedicated to the minding of cat Pokémon of all shapes and sizes. But Meowths require special care and Mollie is an expert. Though it is hard work (if you can call spending all day with cats work!), the monetary rewards are great.

But now is Miss Mollie’s time to take a break and she has decided to take some of her favourites with her to battle in the PAX Pokémon League.

It will be a Pay Day when you receive the Koban Badge!
