Rosy, the Rabbit Wrangler

Long ago, Rosy ran a rabbit ranch full of life and fluffy, hippity-hoppity rabbit Pokemon. Then, she found herself down on her luck when a tornado destroyed most of the ranch. While all of the rabbits survived, Rosy couldn’t afford to rebuild the ranch and was forced to rehome her rabbits to caring trainers. However, she kept one for herself: her favorite, Azumarill. Rosy and Azumarill then went on different journeys together and found some new rabbit Pokemon friends. Nowadays, Rosy’s team of rabbits are a strong part of the Pokemon League looking for any challengers. Battling helps keep them in shape, and regardless of the outcome, they look forward to the after-battle carrot curry!

Muckfoot (not his birthname) wandered the backwoods behind his house after school with his dad, and from time to time they’d also wander the neighboring marsh and creekside. Every so often, he or his dad would misstep and sink knee-deep in thick mud. Their inside joke became ‘Look out for Muckfoot!’ and the name stuck with him as he aged and wandered the backwoods more and more on his own. He grew to appreciate the plants and animals that he observed, and gradually came to learn which were edible, which were poisonous, and which were medicinal. Occasionally he would catch sight of something mysterious or unexplainable, and catalogue these along with his plant and animal lore. One evening, at sunset, everything changed when Muckfoot met his first Fairy-type gliding among the reeds of the creek. . . since then he has learned a great deal more about the poisons and the enchantments of the borderlands that are the marsh, and cooperates with Pokemon in battles as a way to showcase their unique qualities.

While on an unexciting gathering mission with her trustie team of Monsties, Lyra came across a strange ring in the forest. It was gold-rimmed and floating, with what looked to be some sort of a hyperspace black hole in the middle of it. She felt adventurous and stuck her hand in it out of curiosity– and immediately got sucked in. The next thing she knew, she was in the middle of an expansive field, surrounded by strange beings! After a bit of wandering and getting weird looks from passerby’s, she found what seemed to be a bustling city. It was called Motostoke and after talking to the locals, she discovered she was transported to the world of Pokemon, to the Galar region. With no way to return to her world, she became saddened by the loss of her partners and started on the path of being a Pokemon trainer, caring for the creatures as if they were her own Monsties from back home.

Barnum, the Fossil Hunter

Barnum has traveled all over the world in search of ancient Pokemon fossils. From the mountains of Kanto, to the deserts of Hoenn, to the Underground of Sinnoh Barnum and his field assistants have scoured the globe researching extinct Pokemon. Recently, he has turned his attention to Galar’s Wild Area and the unique Pokemon that can be found buried there. Now, he works with his assistants on studying the battle potential of these extinct Pokemon and how they can be combined with modern Pokemon to draw out their full potential. No slouch in a Pokemon battle, Barnum has come upon the halls of the PAX Pokemon League in hopes of finding eager challengers to help him with his battling research.
