A mysterious message…

Researcher Propriety here, and I’ve just been delivered a letter from Alexander, one of our Gym Leaders! It says I should share this immediately with you, challenger… take a look.

My name is Alexander. I am an Emerald Knight. Last year, I had the honor and distinction of serving as a Gym Leader for the PAX Pokémon League East 2013. I came to the PPL as a coach and mentor, with the goal of battling great trainers to learn as much as I could from each and every battle. I have always felt that you can learn much from the trainers you teach that can help you become a better trainer yourself.

While I was at the PPL, I encountered some… less than reputable people, many involved with the PPL itself: the high ranking officers from Team Magma, the nefarious crime syndicate which tried to destroy the oceans to increase the landmass of the world; a maniac collector, known as Lawrence the Third, who attempted to capture the Legendary Birds of Kanto to awaken Lugia; gym leader Maxwell Graves, who made a living swindling people with false fortunes; a young trainer who had somehow genetically altered his team of Shedinja to give them a new ability. All of this nefariousness left a bad taste in my mouth.

When I returned home, I could not sit back and accept what I seen. Along with a group of my most trusted and strong-willed Pokémon, I formed the Emerald Knights, a group dedicated to fighting crime, no matter the form it takes. We set out to keep people and Pokémon alike safe from those whose intentions are less than noble. After gaining a bit of a reputation, we were contacted by the International Police and asked to work alongside them in their efforts to combat crime worldwide. Working closely with the agent known as only as Looker, the Emerald Knights get sent in to handle threats that require our battling expertise.

This April, I am returning to serve as a gym leader at the PAX Pokémon League’s Pokemon Advancement Expo, with my fellow Emerald Knights by my side. Like last year, I look forward to learning from the great trainers who will be there. But this time, there is much greater at stake. Looker has informed me that that there is something nefarious brewing at the Expo. We are still gathering intel on the situation, but believe it involves members of the PPL, specifically the scientists visiting the Expo from around the globe. We will be on alert for anyone who is on the wrong side of the law, and we encourage those trainers who have what it takes to assist us in our investigation.

In the meantime, I am readying my squad for battle. I suggest you do the same.

Well I certainly have no idea what’s going on! As a PPL organizer, I can assure you we vet all our candidates thoroughly! The Maxwell Graves and Team Magma incidents… well, these things sometimes slip through the cracks, you know? Challengers, do be on the lookout for suspicious individuals! More as it develops!
