Ruppy’s a nice guy with a passion for creativity, and you’ve probably seen his work before as he’s been the mastermind behind plenty of amazing gym badges, maybe even including what you’ve earned so far. Wanting to take his creative talents to the next level, he’s asking challengers to help design the very teams they’ll face! As much as the idea sounds like a double-edged sword, Ruppy sees value in keeping things new and interesting, wanting to see how challengers will react in the face of such a unique concept. If you can overcome your own creation, you’ll be rewarded not only with his custom-made Designer Badge, but also a special gift in the form of the Champion’s Memento for all your efforts in challenging the League!

Maxie, Ex-Magma Boss

 After the events with Primal Groudon he decided to retire as the leader of Team Magma and try to get more in tune with his home and the Pokemon that lived there. He left behind everything but his trusty Camerupt and left to explore Hoenn in search of new Pokemon and to train in the art of double battles. With his new companions he quickly rose to be a unstoppable force in battle. Eventually he grew tired of effortlessly winning and left Hoenn in search of new, stronger challengers. That is when he turned his sights on the PAX Pokemon League. Maxie prides himself on fighting only with Pokemon from Hoenn, so a knowledge of the Hoenn Dex will be your best advantage. Defeat Maxie and obtain the Magma Emblem!

Mondo, the Earth Bender of the East

Some gym leaders are made, others are born. In Mondo’s case, it’s hard to say: he was orphaned by his parents in the Austrian Alps, and found by a quartet of Norwegian backpackers. They formally adopted him, bringing him back home to Vossevangen where they raised him among the fjords of Norway. He has only ever known the mountains, their majesty, and their resistance to the elements. Impressed at such an early age by alpine environments, he trains with some of the strongest Pokemon that, like him, feel both grounded and resist the elements. While not solitary, Mondo exhibits aloofness that masks incredibly deep thought processes. Grown from the mountains, Mondo is no pushover.

Eye: Gonta is a master of all things entomological, so when he caught wind of a land filled with bugs beyond his wildest imagination, he had no choice but to follow the rumors. He traveled across the numerous regions, all the way from Kanto to Alola, meeting, studying, and befriending countless fascinating new species of insects. Eventually, Gonta’s renown earned him an invitation to join the League. While he hesitated at first out of concern for his insect friends, they convinced him that battling and growing at his side was what they truly wanted. Now, tempered through fierce battle, Gonta’s bugs are a formidable team – do you have the strength to take them down? Smoke out Gonta’s hive to win the Monocross Emblem!

Elite Six Member: Damekage, the Genetics Researcher

A Pokemon researcher from Kalos interested in how and why Pokemon evolve he found himself in Alola. There he found himself fascinated with how climates had changed the way some Pokemon had evolved. In doing that research he came across a Pokemon that seemed to sparkle in the light. This led to his research on why some Pokemon will rarely have a unique coloring to them and shine in the light. He is after the answer to the shiny Pokemon. Returning to PAX again after furthering that research; bring your unique Pokemon to challenge him and earn the Genetics Emblem!

Claire, the Pale Phantom

 Before becoming a trainer, Claire dwelled in her manor with her friends. With nothing to do, Claire decided that she would set off on her own Pokemon journey—on the condition from her butler that she take her stuffed Bewear with her. At first, the journey was difficult because only strong trainers were able to notice her presense. However, she was always able to win with the support of a powerful unknown force. Now wanting to face other capable trainers, she decided to join the PAX Pokemon League as a leader. Claire mainly uses ghost types. Black her out with dark moves to win. Defeat Claire and gain the Omen badge!

Trashman, the Trash Lord

Trashman is the lord of all trash. Beware of the garbage that litters the trash when you proceed to fight him, because his tactics involve throwing garbage all over the battlefield. Some say that surrounding himself with garbage and using only the most trashtastic Pokemon this side of the landfill imbues him with the strength of one thousand dump trucks. Should any challenger dare enter his trash lair in an attempt to outtrash Trashman, beware, for there is only one known way to outtrash Trashman the Trash Lord. Take out the trash and earn the Trash Badge!

Coming all the way from Beach City, Pearl started out by raising Pokemon under the guidance of her ward. With her organizational skills, her team quickly grew stronger and together, were able to beat countless foes. Traveling the countryside to bubble gem mutants, Pearl came across the PAX Pokemon League. Inspired by the strength of the leaders and the tenacity of the trainers, she pushed to become a leader. Master Splinter, the Rat Sensei of the Ninja Turtles

Master Splinter lives in the sewers of New York City, with his four teenage mutant ninja turtle students. While him and his turtles are usually chowing down some za and protecting the world from the terrors of Shredder, he also trains his students by taking on challengers in the PAX Pokemon league. Defeat him and obtain the Ninja Badge!
