So, challengers, as I mentioned before, I know you’re getting ready to embark on your journey to challenge the PAX Pokemon League, and I was hoping to ask for your help! I’ve still been searching rigorously for clues as to the locations of the legendary birds… all I’ve been able to come up with so far are three coded messages written on old scraps of parchment that I think may be keys to their locations. Unfortunately, though, I have no idea how to decipher the messages… that’s why I need your help!
At the start of your journey, I’ll give you a copy of one of the three messages. Hopefully, gym leaders or other trainers you meet during your journey or even the badges you collect will be able to give you some clue as to how to solve the puzzle. You should definitely ask the gym leaders! They’re all brilliant, some of them must have some hints…. Also, feel free to work together with other challengers! Who knows, maybe you’ll meet some new friends in the process? Or even rivals?! :O
If you can figure out what the message says and come back and let me know, I’d really appreciate it! I’ll have a little prize for you, too! And just think how you’ll be advancing the field of Pokelinguistics… you’ll go down in the books for sure!
Oh! And one more thing. I was telling Pokemon League Janitor Rufus about my research and after about a week of tinkering in his broom closet he gave me a bunch of these little pins…
He told me they’d help. I’m not sure what they’re for, but I’ll give them to you, too!

The PAX Pokemon League East is proud to present the designs for this year’s Trainer Cards!
After their first battle, each challenger will be awarded their very own trainer card! In addition to being a nice memento of your PAX Pokemon League journey, each trainer card shows Gym Leaders recommended for you to battle and the badge you’ll earn if you defeat them! (Of course you can battle any leader, not just those on your card.)
Also, on the back of the card is useful information about the League, such as contact information, meetup times, and new Leader Swarm times and locations! (More on Leader Swarms next week!) Also on the back of the cards is a cipher that will help you unlock the location of the legendary birds… more details on the LEGENDS Challenge will be posted on Thursday!

I hope you’ve been training like no one’s ever trained, because PAX East is only 60 days away! Over the past few months, the PAX Pokemon League has been working hard to assemble a cadre of Gym Leaders from far and wide for you to challenge, badges for you to earn, puzzles for you to solve, and prizes for you to win! This year the PPL is going to be bigger than it’s ever been, and in the next sixty days, we’re going to be revealing information about each of our leaders, as well as some secrets and surprises…!
Official rules are, as always, posted on the “Rules” page for your perusal, and the first gym leader will be revealed TOMORROW! Are you ready? Let’s go!

I’m doing some research on intra-pokemon communications, and I’ve got a startling hypothesis about the legendary birds of Kanto that could blow the world of Pokelinguistics wide open! It’s all about signal plumage and noun-verb phraseology…

Oh, sorry! Were you falling asleep? I got carried away again. None of that’s important. What’s important is I was hoping you might help me do a bit of field research…. The legendary birds are notoriously hard to track down, though I’ve got some leads as to their whereabouts. I need you to work together with other challengers and gym leaders you meet to solve clues and help me find them so we can make some good scientific observations! It might not be easy, but I promise you, it’ll make for an exciting adventure!
