Leader: Issac Bolt, the Top-Speed Pokeathlete!

Born in Goldenrod City, Issac has been a season ticket holder to the Pokeathlon Dome for as long as he can remember. When he was very young, his grandfather took him to see all of the events, but Issac loved the Speed events most, marveling at how quickly the Pokemon could sprint about the field. He knew that when he came of age he wished to train his Pokemon to be as fast as possible, in order to enter them in the Pokeathlon. Once day, while at the Dome, he came across a Munchlax trying and failing to run along the track, being too heavy and small to jump the hurdles. Issac helped it run the track by carrying it on his back, and from that day forward, the two have been inseparable. Outspeed Issac Bolt to earn the Relay-Run Badge!

Leader: Melanie, the Wooper Fanatic!

Melanie grew up in Pastoria City, where at a young age she started to explore the swamps near her home. There she met Woopy, a Wooper who grew up to be her best friend and lifelong companion, as well as become her high-spirited mascot for her battles. Melanie’s known for her childish attitude and the excitement of a twelve-year-old, but even so, don’t let her childlike manner fool you. She is no pushover and should be taken seriously; take this girl lightly and you may end up face down in the mud. Stay on your toes and enjoy yourself, and you may just be the lucky recipient of the Swamp Badge!

Leader: Alexander, the Determined Coach!

Alexander dreamed of creating a place where trainers could congregate, share training suggestions, push each other to be better trainers, and make new friends along the way. Believing that anything can be achieved through determination, he set out to achieve his dream and the Ion Training Center was born. There, trainers of all levels come together to work on improving their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow trainers. Alexander also uses the facility to host classes for aspiring trainers to help them get started on their journey as a Pokemon trainer, guiding his students through his emphasis on willpower, teamwork, and respect. Specializing in grass-type Pokemon, due to his affinity for the color green and belief that it represents the emotional center, he accepts challenges from any and all trainers, awarding an Ion Badge to those who can best him in competition.

Leader: Simon, the Easygoing Esper!

Born and raised in a quiet village adjacent to a Slowpoke colony, Simon spent his childhood playing and napping amongst the Slowpokes in the local pond. He was awakened to his latent psychic powers while fending off poachers who were after Slowpoke tails, and spent every day henceforth honing his skills with the help of the Slowpoke. Due to his upbringing and his… rather mild-mannered mentors, Simon doesn’t have a taste for the hustle and bustle and high class that other psychic trainers possess, instead preferring to take things at a slow and relaxed pace, which is reflected in the Pokémon he chooses to take on challengers with. Slow down, catch your breath, and take Simon on to earn the Slow Badge!

Leader: Maxwell Graves, the Oracle of Ill Omens!

Originally a sham fortune teller who specialized in séances by using his ghost type Pokémon to swindle people out of their money, Maxwell has recently been getting attention for claiming to be getting warnings from a force beyond the veil. While still largely viewed as a fraud, more of his predictions have been coming true as of late…. It is unknown if he really does have any ability to see the future, but what is known is that his Ghost-type Pokémon can pack quite a punch! Challengers who defeat him will earn the Fortune Badge!

Leader: Catya, the Island Settler!

Catya was born to a family of shepherds in the small tribe of Blue on the island of Catan. One day, the rival Orange tribe hired bandits to raid Catya’s fields, and she found herself fighting alongside a young Mareep to protect her family’s lands. The bandits were barely defeated, and she realized that in order to secure the safety of her tribe, she must venture beyond the bucolic pastures of her childhood. Catya and her Mareep set out on a quest to gather Pokemon from every region of the island. Years later, she has secured the prosperity of the Blue tribe and established Catan’s first Pokemon Gym. Leader: Volaro, the Elusive Rose!

Raised in the quiet town of Verdanturf, a young man heard great tales of a foreign gym filled with gifted ninjas. Filled with vigor and longing for adventure away from his dull hometown, he left home after capturing one of the local Roselia. He traveled a great distance, eventually making it to Fuchsia City, where he trained under the current gym leader, Janine. Once his training was complete, he heard stories of the great battles that took place during the PAX Pokemon League and immediately set out for a new challenge. Though he prefers to fight in thick forests, he’ll have no problems taking on challengers in the busy city of Boston. If you can manage to catch him and defeat his tricky team, you’ll earn yourself the Substitution Badge!

Leader: Yellow de Bosque Verde!

Yellow was born near Viridian forest and was blessed with the special ability to heal and read the minds of Pokemon. Her abilities cause her to dislike seeing Pokémon get injured in senseless fights. She considers all of her Pokémon her friends, including her first Pokémon, a Rattata that Red and Pika helped her catch. Often seen with her hair tucked up into her hat, Yellow has come to the PAX Pokemon League to help people understand that battling isn’t everything when it comes to Pokémon. Leader: Reginald, the Ruined Maniac!

Reginald was once at the forefront of archaeology research, studying at all major ruin sites across the regions. While uncovering a new section of Ruins of Alph, Reginald fell through a section of floor. The rescue party that descended after him found only a small, empty room. Three days later, much to everyone’s surprise, Reginald stumbled from the entrance of the ruins. When asked what happened, he would only speak about finding Legedary Pokemon, and refused to leave the site. Soon after, he disappeared into the ruins. He has reportedly been spotted at various ruins across the regions, behaving unpredictably. Shortly after the Pokemon League announced its hunt for the Legendary trio, Reginald Stone mysteriously appeared and applied for a leader position. Solve this man’s cryptic ramblings and receive the Royal Badge!

Leader: Rufus, the Pokemon League Janitor!

Pokemon battles unleash copious amounts of destruction on the grounds where they are fought, but the hallowed halls of the Pax Pokemon League remain shining and spotless due to the tireless efforts of one man. Rufus Atwood has been the PPL janitor for 37 years and he’s always been quick with a ready mop, a window squeegee, or that powder stuff you put on throw-up. A talented trainer in his own right, many a league challenger owe their badge to a kindly word of advice from the man polishing the pokeball case. Rufus’ team is full of those pokemon that live in dingy corners, who would once be the cause of mess and mayhem but have turned to the service of cleanliness under the janitor’s gleaming example. If you can take on this team of muck and grime and emerge without getting slimed, you’ll earn yourself the Spotless Badge!
