We’ve got another comic page up today, but first a word on a more personal note from Professor Pine himself.
Hello all, It’s me, Professor Pine.
As you’ve no doubt heard the news from last week, I’m suspending the League this year at PAX. I will still be in attendance of course, but due to the take over last year by Team Rocket, and the instability of the Rivals’ Leadership at East, we all need to take a step back and assess the situation we have in front of us. Since we already had a fair number of leaders signed up to participate, there will still be other leaders at PAX Prime, and their bio’s will be getting posted soon. Also thanks to an anonymous benefactor, more Leaders are going to be brought in to help fill in the void while the other League officials and myself sort out the state of the League. So this year at Prime will be different, but still wonderful. I really hope to see you there.

And now to your weekly scheduled content from elsewhere in the world…
Welcome to what will be our weekly release of our webcomic for the PAX Pokemon League, leading up to end of August. We’re going to attempt to set the stage for events to transpire at PAX.
So without further ado, page 1:
After some long deliberation and data entry, we are finally ready to reveal all the official PPL Champions! These are the men and women who have, through hard work and dedication, conquered every obstacle in their way – whether it be long lines, fruitless searches, scientific studies, or even camera issues – and have proven themselves worthy of the Champion Capes!
Without further ado, please join me the official in congratulating PAX Pokemon League East 2012 Champions!

The PAX East Pokemon League 2012 is over, and gym leaders and elite four members have returned to their respective corners of the globe. There will be more news and reviews and photos coming soon (after we recover from all the excitement), but I’m sure I echo the sentiments of all of the other leaders when I say thank you, thank you, THANK YOU so much to all of the challengers who battled hard and took the PPL challenge! Without you all this wouldn’t be possible, and whether you defeated the champion or your Pokemon journey is only just beginning, I hope you’ll continue to participate in the future!
Thanks again!

Rhys was indoctrinated into the world of chess at a young age by his father, a grandmaster. Unfortunately, even after years of practice, he was terrible. Giving up on his practice, Rhys spent his nights watching pokemon battles on TV, and fell in love with the idea of battling. One day, while wandering in the park amongst the tables where old men played chess, he sat down to think, and was alarmed when he felt a tugging at his side. A small Pawniard had set up a board and seemed eager to play. While playing, Rhys realized that if viewed a game of chess as a pokemon battle, he played wonderfully. Rhys’ newfound skill earned him the respect of his family and prize money from various competitions, which he used to set off on his Pokemon adventure. After years of traveling, he rose to the top of the Pokemon League, and has come to the PAX as League champion, ready to challenge would-be champions to the ultimate battle of wits and skill.
And now, a word from our Champion himself:

That mysterious figure Morganstern is back with more! Do you have questions about the PAX Pokemon League? Well, have we got just the thing for you…
PAX Pokemon League Do’s and Don’ts:
…
Once there was a man who was a prize-winning paragon of mustached men. However, the burning envy of one of his competitors led to a public and shameful sabotage of his once peerless facial hair. Disgraced, the man he was fled from the public eye and became… The Mysterious Mr. Mustache, trainer extraordinaire! Only pokemon who proudly sport stately mustaches of their own earn the right to fight by his side, each of which finely trained with the same meticulous care his gives his own whiskers. Together, they established a gym dedicated to spreading the love of mustaches of all shapes and sizes. He respectfully hands over the Handlebar Badge to any who defeat him.
Originally from Mistralton City, Yeager grew up with a Pidgey named Maverick and a wish to fly. In the war he flew fighter planes alongside the famous Lt. Surge, and after the war became a pilot. After logging thousands of hours of commercial flight, Yeager yearned for something more. He began to fly across the world, drifting from region to region with his pokemon looking for new challenges and new flying pokemon to befriend, and has set up a gym on a B-17 Flying Forretress. Those who can beat Yeager in dogfight will be awarded the Aviator badge!”
Fed up with evil organizations pushing for a bleak future, Charles found solace in old stories of knights and their armored Pokemon saving lasses in distress from rampaging dragon-type Pokemon and men that had fallen under the influence of powerful dark-type Pokemon. After traveling for many years, he decided to establish a gym to teach young trainers to battle with honor and courage. Ser Charles will knight those brave and skilled enough to best his team of Steel-Type team, and send them away with a Valor Badge as proof of their honor.
