Exception to a rule?

I'm aware that this is a really dumb question but clarification is one of my favorite things in the world so, farewell pride.

So maybe possibly for Prime next year I was thinking about running a team of Not Fully Evolved 'mons. However since most NFEs have utterly terrible stats, I was wondering if it would be ok to make an exception to the no duplicate items rule and allow more than one team member to have a focus sash/eviolite etc? It wouldn't be a team full of F.E.A.R. rattatas, hilarious and whimsically tactless as that would be, to be clear.

Again, this is a big huge maybe, but knowing what the options are is always nice.

Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis, but it looks like the battle mode we use wouldn't let it work anyway.
