3DS Price Dropping to $170 on August 12th

Perhaps not of immediate interest, but you [ipnf]know[/ipnf] the next Pokemon game is going to be on the 3DS. Plus, Prime is sure to be a hotbed of people using the secondary features like AR and... Street Passing... or whatever it is.

Does anyone know - will this affect the price of the DSi? (currently still using a DSlite)

A quick google search says:

DSi: ~125$
DSiXL: ~160$
3DS (post price drop): 170$

A quick wander around the internet shows that no one knows what will happen, but a lot of people are thinking discontinue to focus on 3DS. The point behind the close prices is so that anyone thinking about an XL will say, "oh that's pretty much the same price, might as well." Something to look at would be how GBA, particularly SP and Micro fared after DS got a price drop. It won't be the same, since this drop is 3-4 months after release and most drops are years after, but it would be a good indicator.

This is all theory and speculation. You could just wait till Aug. 12 and see what happens?

Also, 20 free games? YES PLEASE.
