East 2018 Team Showcase

Another PPL is in the books. Battles were had. Badges were won. Champions were crowned. Now, it's time to show off the teams that you brought to the dance. Challengers and leaders alike are encouraged to share their teams and experiences here!

I'll kick things off with the 4 teams of Alexander, the Proud Paragon. I had a team set for each potential challenger experience level and one for the end of the Four Horsemen challenge. All were played as Double battles.

[bkmx]Casual[/bkmx]

[spoilerkmx]I wanted to have completely different Pokemon on each of my 3 main teams. The idea with this one has to use a few that weren't fully evolved since there's a shortage of Dragon types, and most of them tend to be pretty strong anyway. The team still did a little better than I wanted it to, but it was fun to use.

Hermes (Dragonair)
Item: Figy Berry
Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Adamant
-Outrage
-Waterfall
-Extreme Speed
-Thunder Wave

Melody (Altaria)
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid
-Dragon Pulse
-Heat Wave
-Dazzling Gleam
-Tailwind

Chopper (Fraxure)
Item: Dragonium Z
Ability: Mold Breaker
Nature: Adamant
-Outrage
-Dragon Claw
-Poison Jab
-Superpower

Man-O-War (Dragalge)
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Adaptability
Nature: Modest
-Sludge Bomb
-Dragon Pulse
-Hydro Pump
-Shadow Ball

Shelby (Sliggoo)
Item: Eviolite
Ability: Gooey
Nature: Bold
-Dragon Pulse
-Muddy Water
-Blizzard
-Toxic

Falkor (Drampa)
Item: Aguav Berry
Ability: Berserk
Nature: Modest
-Hyper Voice
-Dragon Pulse
-Heat Wave
-Icy Wind[/spoilerkmx]

[bkmx]Intermediate[/bkmx]

[spoilerkmx]This team was just a super gimmick similar to what I did last year with half of the team based on Trick Room and the back half on being fast. It generally either works really well, or goes down in flames in spectacular fashion. It was close to a 50-50 split with this team, but part of that was due to not being able to use my Veteran team against players who didn't have the Ultra games.

Pailmarach (Alolan Exeggutor)
Item: Light Clay
Ability: Frisk
Nature: Sassy
-Draco Meteor
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Trick Room

Coillarach (Mega Sceptile)
Item: Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Timid
-Giga Drain
-Dragon Pulse
-Focus Blast
-Protect

Teumarach (Garchomp)
Item: Dragonium Z
Ability: Rough Skin
Nature: Jolly
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Poison Jab

Garadarach (Druddigon)
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Nature: Brave
-Dragon Claw
-Iron Head
-Crunch
-Rock Slide

Starbanarach (Noivern)
Item: Aguav Berry
Ability: Infiltrator
Nature: Timid
-Air Slash
-Dragon Pulse
-Heat Wave
-Tailwind

Sgalarach (Turtonator)
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
Nature: Quiet
-Heat Wave
-Dragon Pulse
-Flash Cannon
-Protect[/spoilerkmx]

[bkmx]Veteran[/bkmx]

[spoilerkmx]This team ended up being terrifying and didn't lose at all. Salamence started things off with Tailwind and Kingdra and Kommo-o are no joke.

Fafnir (Dragonite)
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Multiscale
Nature: Adamant
-Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide
-Fire Punch
-Extreme Speed

Kusariqqu (Mega Ampharos)

Ramashutu (Kingdra)
Item: Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
Nature: Modest

-Muddy Water

Nidhogg (Salamence)
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate

-Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide
-Iron Tail
-Tailwind

Vouivre (Tyrantrum)
Item: Figy Berry
Ability: Strong Jaw
Nature: Adamant
-Rock Slide
-Dragon Claw
-Ice Fang
-Crunch

Mushussu (Kommo-o)
Item: Kommonium Z
Ability: Bulletproof
Nature: Modest
-Clanging Scales
-Focus Blast
-Flash Cannon
-Protect[/spoilerkmx]

[bkmx]Four Horsemen[/bkmx]

[spoilerkmx]For those not familiar with what the Four Horsemen deal was, you needed to beat all of the Horsemen (Lincoln Loud, Mr. Rogers, Red, and Blue) and show me their badges to face this team and have a chance at winning the Symbol of Excellence. Only one person was able to make and he managed to win the battle. The team took one Pokemon from each of the Horsemen's teams, one Dragon to represent me, and one Pokemon that is typical of my doubles teams at PAX (a dual screener).

Shady (Arcanine - from Blue)
Item: Aguav Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Calm
-Flamethrower
-Snarl
-Will-O-Wisp
-Protect

Speedy (Dragonite - from Mr. Rogers)

For Grimm and Epitaph we had 3 teams, each with 3 dark types for Grimm and 3 ghost for Epitaph. For those who didn't battle us, we were not a multi battle but rather a double battle. We would advise each other but the final decision was left to the owner of the Pokemon.

[btgw] Standard Team: [/btgw]

[spoilertgw]This team was our go to team for new challengers and was extremely reliable. We always led with Alolan Persian and Mimikyu. Persian would disrupt and was a general monster. This also allowed Mimikyu to set up and do what it does.

Jerry (Mimikyu)
Ability: Disguise
Item: Lum Berry
Nature: adamant
Play Rough
Shadow Sneak
Shadow Claw
Swords Dance

Bruford (Aegislash)
Ability: Stance Change
Item: Weakness Policy
Nature: Brave
Iron Head
Shadow Claw
Swords Dance
King Shield

Doppel (Gengar)
Ability: Cursed Body
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Modest
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
Dazzling Gleam
Will-o-wisp

Tom (Alolan Persian)
Ability: Fur Coat
Item: Assault Vest
Nature: Timid
Fake Out
Foul Play
Icy Wind
Snarl

Tsuna (Gyarados)
Ability: Intimidate (Mold Breaker)
Item: Gyaradosite
Nature: Jolly
Waterfall
Crunch
Ice Fang
Dragon Dance

Lucifina (Hydreigon)
Ability: Levitate
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Draco Meteor
Dark Pulse
Flamethrower
Flash Cannon[/spoilertgw]

[btgw] Trick Room: [/btgw]

[spoilertgw]This team was meant for rematches or when we became bored with the standard team. It depended on trick room unless the opposing team was slower which was often the case. It definitely wasn't as reliable but Epitaph loved it.

Ramona (Mimikyu)
Ability: Disguise
Item: Mental Herb
Nature: Brave
Trick Room
Play Rough
Taunt
Pain Split

Salazar (Dhelmise)
Ability: Steelworker
Item: Steelium Z
Nature: Brave
Anchor Shot
Power Whip
Earthquake
Rapid Spin

Narmer (Cofagrigus)
Ability: Mummy
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Sassy
Shadow Ball
Trick Room
Calm Mind
Pain Split

Pompeii (Tyranitar)
Ability: Sandstorm
Item: Tyranitarite
Nature: Brave
Pursuit
Rock Slide
Iron Head
Protect

Beerus (Incineroar)
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Assault Vest
Nature: Brave
Darkest Lariat
Flare Blitz
Fake Out
Drain Punch

Wendygo (Crawdaunt)
Ability: Adaptability
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Brave
Knock Off
Crabhammer
Aqua Jet
Protect

Alternate to Narmer:

Charon (Dusknoir)
Ability: Pressure
Item: Lum Berry
Nature: Brave
Pain Split
Will-o-wisp
Trick Room
Rock Slide[/spoilertgw]

[btgw] Singles: [/btgw]

[spoilertgw]This team was meant for casual and intermediate challengers knowing that many challengers weren't comfortable with doubles and was ran as a singles team. We were like a tag team. This team used a lot of the ghost Pokemon from the standard team so I'll just put their names.

Bruford (Aegislash)

Jerry (Mimikyu)

Judah (Decidueye)
Ability: Long Reach
Item: Assault Vest
Nature: Adamant
Spirit Shackle
Leaf Blade
U-turn
Sucker Punch

Lamb (Hydreigon)
Ability: Levitate
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Draco Meteor
Flash Cannon
Earth Power
Dark Pulse

Champa (Incineroar)
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Assault Vest
Nature: Brave
Darkest Lariat
Knock Off
Flare Blitz
U-turn

Greninja
Ability: Battle Bond
Item: Waterium Z
Nature: Timid
Water Shuriken
Hydro Cannon
Ice Beam
Dark Pulse[/spoilertgw]
