I should introduce myself as well.
I'm Rachel (credeiki around the internet). I'm gym leadering this year at PAX East; you might remember me from last PAX East as the person dressed as Raz from Psychonauts; alternately, as the person who was totally unfamiliar with Gen 2 and 4 pokemon (I should really correct this issue before PAX) but competed well enough.
The existence of this community makes me really happy; I had been embarrassed about still loving pokemon until I realized that there's a whole group of people who takes the competitive play to a high level, and also a group of people who continues to enjoy the game for its own sake.
See you in person at PAX! (I'll be in the tabletop area.)

Welcome to the forums, Credeiki! The PAX Pokemon league is what made me fall in love with Pokemon again, so I know how you feel. Its great having this to look forward to every year. I love your gym leader idea, btw. My friends and I played Catan a whole lot, back in the day. xP
