Gym Leader Friend Codes

Is it possible to get Gym Leader friend codes before we go to PAX, please? For those that are unable to figure out how to get them without doing it manually, such as myself , it might save some time when one of us runs into you to not have to ask for friend codes...
On the other hand, you might still have to ask for ours... :/

Local WiFi does not require friend codes.
