I wonder if we'll be limited to just the uncovered portions of Unova, or if the story will progress to the point of us actually freeing the rest of Unova. I'm expecting the latter, mostly because the information tells us that this massive ice sheet happened in a 2-year span, meaning that Kyurem is likely the reason for the ice sheet and, as such, there is likely a way to reverse it by potentially capturing Kyurem. Don't know how that would affect things though, I mean it seems unlikely that life would magically return to normal just by eliminating the ice sheet, but then again, stranger things have happened in Pokemon. Without seeing a definitive Pokemon League building though, I find this possibility more likely.
The flipside of that argument is they have given us newer locales on the western side of Unova, updated areas from the original Black and White, gave us two new Gym Leaders and a new Professor (if that is indeed his true purpose) to make up for what would have been lost by losing the northern and northeastern sections of Unova.
Time will tell I suppose. Though it will be cool to see how Unova has changed, I haven't been this eager since exploring Kanto in Gold and Silver.
