First off, this past weekend was my first ever PAX, and my first time challenging the PPL. It was a blast, and I just wanted to thank all of you for running it! (for those of you who I was able to challenge, I'm the one who was running the rain team with Politoed, Toxicroak, and the shiny Bronzong, if any of you remember me =P )
I had an idea that just came to mind, in regards to the Orre theme mentioned earlier. It would have definite room for improvement/tweaking, plus I'm unsure how plausible it would be to implement, but here goes:
Each of the leaders could play the role of a Cipher Admin, each with their own unique shadow Pokemon. This shadow Pokemon would be on their team's roster when challenged, and if the challenger is victorious, he/she would effectively "snag" the Pokemon. The challenger would receive the shadow Pokemon in a trade, along with instructions on how to purify it. Purifying methods could include things such as:
*leveling it up (i.e., lv30 Shadow Pokemon could be purified if it is raised to lv40 or so)
*teaching it a certain move
*evolving it (i.e., a leader could pass out a Shadow Machoke (holding an Everstone of course), and the challenger must find someone to trade to evolve/purify it)
This is just a small list of ideas that come to mind at this time. I'm sure you guys could think up of many other zany purification methods to make the PPL fun and exciting ;p
Once purified, the challenger would return to the leader he/she received the shadow Pokemon from to confirm the purification. Once confirmed, the challenger would receive their badge. The resulting purified Pokemon could then be trained however seen fit, possibly being able to compete in some events/challenges in which trainers would use their "purified" team instead of their standard team.
I'm not sure how easy it would be for this theme to be run by the leaders, plus it'd be a chore to fill up several boxes worth of shadow Pokemon to hand out to challengers. However, I figured I'd at least share the idea anyways to see what you all think.
