PAX Pokemon League

In a bit of a bind, but I think I can get it eventually. Sadly the one Pokemon I have right now that knows it is a male Serperior, which wouldn't be too much of a problem if the Meganium I wanted to breed wasn't male as well.

There are three moves from the Meganium too, that I want the kid to know later (not sure which ones it can be born with at first)

Solar Beam
Sunny Day
Leaf Storm
(Blank - ideas?)

Meganium is my favorite grass starter, mostly for sentimental reasons, but I'd like a strong one for a future team.

What I'm asking for is breeding advice I guess, trying to start with a ditto and get a female Snivy with leaf storm first...unless I'm outta luck and a male won't pass down moves? I hope not, they're both male.

Meganium is more of a defensive Pokemon. I used one as the Grass Gym Leader at PAX East a couple of years ago. It shocked people how many hits it could take. Conversely, it's not terribly strong offensively. Personally, for a Grass attack on it, I prefer Giga Drain just to add to Meganium's survivability. If you really want to use it as a Sunny Day setter for use with other Pokemon and its own Leaf Guard ability, Solarbeam is ok. Leaf Storm really isn't something I'd use on a Meganium because it just doesn't hit hard enough. I'd also put Synthesis on it no matter how you're using it. Possibly Leech Seed. I used Dragon Tail on mine and did some fun things with that, a Red Card as its held item, and Stealth Rock.

Oh man! All that sounds really cool! I love Chikorita....first starter Pokemon I really got attached to.

Ah, you were a gym leader!? Cool beans! I'd have loved to fight your Meganium to see it in action!
