I thought I'd make a topic for good fan pokemon games.
Anything from hacks, to flash games, to mods of other games, to standalone games belong here.
Pokemon Zeta/Omicron[/url2ce] A very lengthy standalone game made in rpgmaker, with plenty of gameplay, and set to be finished next Monday. It's unpolished, but it's very good.
I'll update this list as more posts are made, I guess.

This is only loosely related, but this is a great JonTron video on bootleg pokemon games.

There's a whole world I know nothing about! I first learned about these when people started talking about the version of Red possibly being a hacked version with pokemon from both games, during the TwitchPlaysPokemon thing.
I feel like I'm falling into Wonderland looking at some of them!

PSA: The current Humble Weekly Bundle[/urlydm] is for the RPG Maker software and some games. Why does this matter? Because Pokemon Essentials[/urlydm] turns RPG Maker XP into an engine for Pokemon games!
You have to pay six bucks for RPG Maker XP, but seriously, six bucks to make your own Pokemon games?
It's the same way Pokemon Zeta&Omicron was made, and it currently has support for all six generations. There are tutorials[/urlydm], and it's basically infinitely easier than ROM hacking.
Also, here's a simple (and awesome) idea that should definitely happen: Turn each year's PPL into a battle arena with Pokemon Essentials. The AI probably will never be as good as the top-tier leaders, but it would be good practice!
