Holy cow. Right up my alley. And I actually already have videos of me commentating Pokemon battles on my YouTube channel. I'm not sure if I could swing the trips, but it's definitely peaked my interest. Thanks for pointing this out.

I appreciate that. I talked it over with my wife yesterday and she told me to go for it, so I'll be working on an audition video soon. I'll probably post it here before I submit it to get feedback from you guys on it.

So, I'm trying to work out how I'm going to do the audition video.

Here's the full info from the link WyldFyre posted:

[spoiler6ep]We’re looking for bright and talented Pokémon fans to provide live commentary at the 2014 Pokémon US National Championships and Pokémon World Championships! If you have the Pokémon knowledge, eloquence, and composure to be an on-screen commentator at these events, we want to see it! Auditions are open to US residents who are at least 18 years old. Also, you must be able to attend both the US National Championships, July 4–6 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the World Championships, August 15–17 in Washington, DC. If you are selected, The Pokémon Company International will cover your travel and hotel costs.

To submit an audition, create a video that shows you providing gameplay commentary for a Pokémon X or Pokémon Y video game match or a Pokémon TCG match. You may commentate solo or with a partner. Post the video to YouTube with the title “Play! Pokémon Commentary Audition: [YOUR NAME]”. Be sure to make your video public so we can watch it!

Once you’ve posted the video, send an email to auditions@pokemon.com with the following information:

Subject: Commentary Audition for [YOUR NAME]

Name:
TCG or Video Game:
Audition YouTube link:
Pokémon event experience:
Additional comments:

Please post your video and send your email to us no later than April 21, 2014. Note that this is an audition, not a contest. Submissions will be evaluated on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) appearance, announcing eloquence, composure, brand knowledge, and play knowledge. We are eager to see and hear your audition video, but we do not guarantee that we will choose someone from the applications we receive.

Good luck to all applicants! We look forward to seeing and hearing your audition video to be a commentator at the 2014 Pokémon US National Championships and Pokémon World Championships![/spoiler6ep]

The hangup for me right now is this. They want video showing the person providing commentary for a battle. I'm presuming that the battle should be seen in the video so that they can see that you're actually calling what you're seeing. Obviously, you need to be clearly seen in the video as well so they can judge your appearance. As a simple route, I could have a battle playing on a TV either behind me or next to me in the video. Or, I could try and have a friend of mine do a picture in picture sort of deal. Or am I over thinking this whole thing and the battle itself shouldn't be in the video. I want to make sure I put the best product forward since you only get one shot for this. All ideas and suggestions are welcome. I may try, if I have time, to record something this week in order to get some feedback on it before it needs to be in. There's just under two weeks before the deadline.

I agree that Picture in Picture is best. Heck, you could also supply the battle video itself with the audio commentary as a supplement, so they can see what happened in the battle, and compare it to your commentary.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think you're both right. I talked to my friend who works with video editing and he said he'll help me out. Now, I just need to record the stuff on my end and make the magic happen, lol.
