PAX Pokemon League

Hey guys,

My name is Lance, and am currently based in the Philippines. Met a lot of you guys during Pax East 2012, not sure if you guys remember me (I used all fighting types for every fight except the championship fight where we had to use a chess themed team), but it's pretty hard to forget how awesome the league was. I've been saving up some cash to visit Boston again for Pax East 2014, and was wondering how to apply to become a gym leader. I'm interested in applying with for the position of poison, steel, fighting, rock, or normal gym leader.

Nothing would make me happier than representing the league as the fighting gym leader however.

Any help would be appreciated, hope everyone's doing great!

After PAX Prime, we'll be gearing up for PAX East, and around that time the East application will go up and the sign-up period will begin. So mark your calendar to check the site often after September 2nd, follow the @PaxPokemon Twitter page, and like the PAX Pokemon League on Facebook to keep yourself informed on all the latest PPL news!

Alright I'll be waiting for September then. Thanks for the help! Also, since we'd be applying before Pokemon X and Y come out, is it okay not to have a team decided by then? I'd like to use some of the newer Pokemon too.

Going in with an idea in mind doesn't hurt (and is much preferred), but due to the nature of this situation (X and Y releasing quite some time before PAX) there will be better information on what will be done in regards of the game and the PPL the more the sign up date approaches! So stay tuned!

I was just wondering if we could submit multiple gym leader applications in case the our preferred type is already taken.

Any formal announcement on when gym leader applications will be submitted?

No, I mean if I wanted to be a fighting type gym leader, but was turned down because the fighting type spot was taken, would I be allowed to submit another entry for another Pokemon type in order to increase my chances of becoming a gym leader?

In general, we don't accept/deny people strictly based on types. We do love to get type coverage, but if people double up it's OK. I try to let people know what types have been taken/what we still need, and if you have an idea that fits a niche nobody's taken, it does give you a edge just from the nature of your idea being more originality.

That said, if there are like, 4 fire type leaders (this has happened...) I might ask if anybody's willing to switch.
