Well everyone, looks like that's a wrap. I hope you all had fun. I certainly had a good time, played some tough challengers. I think it would be nice to have all the gym leaders post their team and tell everyone about a positive experience they had. So, here it goes, this year, I was using the following team:

[spoiler9wv]Hippowdon
Ability: Sand Stream

EVs: HP: 252, Def: 128, SpDef: 128

Fire Fang

Golurk

EVs: HP: 252, Atk: 252
Item: Choice Band
Moves:
Shadow Punch
DynamicPunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge

Nidoking
Ability: Sheer Force
Nature: Timid
EVs: SpAt: 252, Spd: 252
Item: Life Orb
Moves:
Earth Power
Ice Beam
Flamethrower
Thunderbolt

Landorus
Ability: Sand Force
Nature: Timid
EVs: Atk: 252, Spd: 252
Item: Choice Scarf
Moves:
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Outrage
U-Turn[/spoiler9wv]

I had alot of fun playing against the club from Olympia. You guys rocked. It was also fun seeing challengers who had faced me telling their friends that they had to battle me.

Edit: Challengers, please chime in, talk about a positive experience, anything. This is also a good opportunity to provide feedback.

While I wasn't able to get a Champion cape (only 5 available, and I was champion #10) being able to challenge, and defeat, Madame Boss was a great feeling and a vast improvement over last year. Since I think it's going to be the fun and cool thing to do, here's my team for this year + the 2 substitutions I brought in for a battle against the leader of Aqua + Madame Boss:

[spoilerglk]Mitsunari (Thundurus) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Prankster
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot
- Taunt

Motonari (Swampert) (M) @ Rindo Berry
Trait: Torrent
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Curse
- Stealth Rock

Yukimura (Infernape) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Musashi (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn

Masamune (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Thunder Wave

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind

**Deoxys-A @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Superpower
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball

**Sanjuro (Gallade) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Steadfast
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Psycho Cut
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance

** My Deoxys-A and Gallade replaced Porygon2 and Thundurus, respectively.

Fun fact: The original team had a Vaporeon with Scald, Toxic, Protect and Wish, as well as Leftovers, and the team was named after various personalities from the Sengoku-Jidai: [uglk]Toyotomi Hideyoshi[/uglk], [uglk]Date Masamune[/uglk], [uglk]Sanada Yukimura[/uglk], [uglk]Ishida Mitsunari[/uglk], [uglk]Mori Motonari[/uglk], and [uglk]Miyamoto Musashi[/uglk]. However, the Vaporeon wasn't finished in time for PAX, so I subbed in a Skarmory to take its place.[/spoilerglk]

I must say, I loved the theme of this year's League. Being able to join Plasma and support Lord N's vision through honorable battle was very worth the effort spent in crafting the team for this year :)

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for next year... Or East, should I happen to go to that one too.

I had a tone of fun this year, so I must say, thank you to all of the fabulous leaders this year. I was a bit nervous about two pokemon on my team this year, but they turned out to be the "diamond in the rough" of my team.
[spoilerswp]Nitasha :Ninjask-Speed Boost
X-scissor Aerial Ace U-Turn Metal Claw
Held Item: Life Orb Nature: Adamant

Erica: Espeon-Magic Bounce
Light Screen Reflect Psychic Shadow Ball
Held Item: Light Clay Nature: Modest

Lucius: Lucario-Inner Focus
Aura Sphere Psychic Dragon Pulse Shadow Ball
Held Item:Focus Sash Nature: Timid

Chandler: Chandelure-Flash Fire
Flamethrower Hidden Power Fighting Energy Ball Shadow Ball
Held Item: Absorb Bulb Nature: Modest

Sarah: Sawsbuck-Sap Sipper
Horn Leech Mega Horn Jump Kick Swords Dance
Held Item: Big Root Nature: Adamant

Fiona: Floatzel-Water Vail
Bulk Up Baton Pass Water Fall Crunch
Held Item: Leftovers (King's Rock) Nature: Adamant

Liligant-Own Tempo
Giga Drain Petal Dance Attract Quiver Dance
Held Item:Bright Powder Nature: Bold

Fredrick:Ferrothorn-Iron Barbs
Power Whip Leech Seed Protect Ingrain
Held Item: Leftovers Nature: Calm (completely the wrong nature for him)[/spoilerswp]

Floatzel and Sawsbuck where those two pokemon. I was a bit uncertain how they would do, until I saw them in action. I, unfortunately, did switch out Sawsbuck for Liligant when I fought Archy for the third time. From there she was on my team until the end. I switched out Ninjask for Ferrothorn when I fought Archy for the fourth time...yes, four times. Our last battle was, well, long too say the least. I switched Ninjask back for the Champion battle. I became Champion number seven or eight, please correct me if I am wrong.

I will see all of you at PAX next year!

Here's Lorelei's team. I greatly apologize for the difficulty. I did beta test my team and I lost a lot of the time. I guess I just have really tough friends?

This was my team:
[spoileryv9]Aerodactyl, Pressure, Adamant, Focus Sash
Aerial Ace, Thunder Fang, Taunt, Stealth Rock

Rampardos, Mold Breaker, Adamant, Muscle Band
Zen Headbutt, Earthquake, Rock Polish, Rock Slide

Kabutops, Swift Swim, Jolly, Life Orb
Rapid Spin, Low Kick, Waterfall, Swords Dance

Archeops, Acrobatics, Hasty, Flying Gem
Acrobatics, Crunch, Stone Edge, U-Turn

Cradily, Storm Drain, Sassy, Leftovers
Energy Ball, Toxic, Rock Slide, Recover

[byv9]GARY[/byv9], Flame Body, Timid, Heat Rock
Lava Plume, Solar Beam, Recover, Sunny Day[/spoileryv9]
My Rampardos was actually originally gonna have fire punch and crunch rather then a rock polish build, buuuut there was some mishaps and it didn't turn out that way. He still preformed to the best of his abilities...

The MVP of my team was Gary, the Magcargo. He seriously would get atleast one kill per battle, whether it be because of Solar Beam or Flame Body preforming better then I expected, or that Flame Body burn causing some JUSTICE! I love Gary....

Here's the deed that did those devils' dirty dishes:
[spoilerft7][bft7]Huntail[/bft7] - Cleobulus
[ift7]Red Card[/ift7]
WATER VEIL
-Shell Smash
-Baton Pass
-Crunch
-Waterfall

[bft7]Ninjask[/bft7] - Chilon
[ift7]Razor Claw[/ift7]
SPEED BOOST
-Protect
-X-Scissor
-Swords Dance
-Baton Pass

[bft7]Mawile[/bft7] - Bias
[ift7]Air Balloon[/ift7]
INTIMIDATE
-Swords Dance
-Baton Pass
-Iron Head
-Sucker Punch

[bft7]Drifblim[/bft7] - Thales
[ift7]Flying Gem[/ift7]
UNBURDEN
-Acrobatics
-Baton Pass
-Stockpile
-Substitute

[bft7]Emolga[/bft7] - Pittacus
[ift7]Ring Target[/ift7]
MOTOR DRIVE
-Charge Beam
-Thunder
-Encore
-Baton Pass

[bft7]Sawsbuck[/bft7] - Periander
[ift7]Quick Claw[/ift7]
SAP SIPPER
-Baton Pass
-Swords Dance
-Double Edge
-Horn Leech[/spoilerft7]

By the end of the weekend, I was a proud 2 wins to ~25 losses. Only two matches were shameful sweeps of my whole team and almost every match had points of contention from my team. Huntail's Red Card, Emolga's Encore, and Ninjask just being Ninjask were probably my favorite parts. The matches were always long, but they were also thorough, insightful, and thought-provoking. Most of my competitors really took away the Spirit of the Gym Leader representing the 'Creative' form that Pokemon team building can take, as opposed to a strictly 'Competitive' based build. Finally, over the weekend I learned a lot about what it means to be a Gym Leader and how to create a fluid space that still represents your persona. We may not have fighting dojos as a structural place to house our competitions, but our Gyms can still represent that emotion between some bean bags and an IR link in spirit and in mind.

That is why sometimes our hands shake when we play Pokemon. That is the successful affect of your Gym's space. And the sign of a damn good battle.

- X-Scissor[/spoileraw6]
This team was fun, but a little unstable, if Rapidash got taken out, which usually happened pretty early, I was pretty weak to the boosted fire attacks. Leafeon's attract was a great surprise here and there, and he defeated a Haxorus all by himself XD which threw both me and my opponent for a loop...
I think Arcanine was the most fun, though. Powerful, fast, and that ExtremeSpeed! oh man. He was definitely the powerhouse of this team, he could deal with pretty much whatever got thrown at him until something hit him harder.

This team was probably my personal favorite, as I like sandstorm teams. I've used pokemon similar to most of these before, so I knew what to do. A lot of heavy hitters on this team, technician Scizor was great, and used some moves that were unexpected. Rhyperior, oh god, Rhyperior hit like a Cannon, and was pretty durn bulky to boot! Cradily was able to set up with some powerful voodoos, even with one attacking move. I never really got to use Armaldo much, which made me a little sad, but Gastrodon....My heavens. I never expected how awesome Gastrodon would be! Storm Drain saved me from all sorts of water moves (which were VERY common <.<)

Ah yes. My winter team. Swept by any fast pokemon with a fire move. I had a couple people go through the majority of this team with a Chandelure or a volcarona. I liked it, but MAN did it get wrecked. I did not do well with this team, but at least I had fun!
