Wow, remarkably similar to an idea I had, though mine was even MORE chaotic.
I raise 3 Pokemon from each type, so it's only half the work, woo.

Before battle, my opponent rolls two D20 and a D4. 2-18 correspond to the types. 1 means I choose a type, 19 is uhhh... reroll? And 20 means they pick. Doubles get rerolled except 1's and 20's. Double 1's means automatic loss, sorry, but double 20's means automatic WIN! 8D (or not include the autos, eh heh)
The also roll a D4 with them to determine whether it will be a single, double, triple, or rotatiiion battle.

All in all, it amounts to well over FIVE HUNDRED unique combinations. By all means, no battle would be the same.

The sheer audacity of it tempts me.

Woop, just thought of something for 19, three dittos or the nearest gymleader's type.

Aw crap, now I want to make a team of six Dittos. Siiiiigh, me and my too many ideas.
