EAST 2012: PPL Art Team Formation
Posted: Tue Aug 30, 2011 4:46 pm
As PPL gets bigger, the list of responsibilities grows larger.
Up until this point, I've been the only artist for PPL. This means all of the logos, gym leader art, teaser images, and many badge designs were all done by me.
But we're getting larger - with 20 gym leaders, an E4, and challenger planned for PAX East 2012. This means I could really use some help!
I know a few of you have already expressed some interest, but I want to open this up to as many people as possible and put you all through the same application process.
So, without further adieu, I give you:
[bvtu][color=#FF4000vtu]The PAX Pokemon League Art Team Application![/bvtu][/colorvtu]
[spoilervtu]These are the things I'm going to need from you as an artist - please PM these things to my PPL fora account or email them directly to me at kswanner at gmail dot com:
1. Deviant art / webpage / image files of your work
2. A photo of yourself and then how you would draw yourself as a pokemon trainer. I want you to try and match the style of either the pokemon manga or the anime as close as possible.
I'll accept either a gym leader headshot, head and torso, or full body. If you can make a sprite, that could also be super cool! Image(s) need to be in transparent .png format and with hights of 500, 200, and 90 pixels. (So, in the very least, I should be getting at least three files, each a different size, of the same image).
3. A badge design for your leader.
Here is our badge template: [bvtu][url=http://kimi.timduru.org/images/Badge.pngvtu]CLICK HERE[/urlvtu][/bvtu]
The end result doesn't have the black template lines in it, but I've provided this so you can work within the perimeters that Pure Buttons wants us to in order for our badges to turn out well. The main portion of the badge is within the dotted circle while the portion outside of the dotted circle becomes the rim of the button.
4. The submission of your application means that you are agreeing that you are willing and able to dedicate your time to this project. As the head of the art team, I will expect you to meet all of the deadlines set by the PPL. You will also need to be of the understanding that this is a VOLUNTEER project. Your time will not be compensated with money, but with the great appreciate of the PPL and its participants.[/spoilervtu]
I will be accepting applications until the end of September!
Please do NOT post your applications in this thread - it is specifically for questions and comments.
I'm looking forward to getting some help!
