PAX Pokemon League

Hey everybody,

My name's Russell, I've been a challenger (and champion!) at PAX East for two years running now. I love the PPL, it helped re-ignite my love for Pokemon after years of absence from it. The thing I look forward to most at PAX is the PPL. My wife, Jordan, also loves the PPL, and served as a Gym Leader at PAX East '13 (http://paxpokemonleague.net/2013/03/lea ... -pokemonk/).

So, with PAX South in the pipe ([url0hd]http://kotaku.com/pax-south-takes-the-show-to-texas-in-2015-1562571810[/url0hd]), Jordan and I asked Propriety during East if there were plans to bring the PPL to San Antonio next January. Unfortunately, the PPL is a lot of work; Propriety is unable to put together a yet another PPL in a year, but he also told us if we wanted to make it happen, we certainly could.

So! I wanted to go ahead and gauge interest from people on a PPL at PAX South. This isn't firm commitment yet, but I want to see if we could have enough people. The first South league would likely be a smaller affair than East or Prime, probably just around 8 leaders, an E4, and a Champion. Actual applications will come in a few months, if we have enough interest.

So, what say you?

I wish I could go as it's much closer to me since I'm from Austin, but I'm already committed to goin to MAGFest in DC on the same weekend.

By the way, I totally support this. If you can drum up enough interest I'd love to see a branch of the League start at South! Plus Russell is a cool guy (I've battled him many-a-time!) so I know he'd do a good job. I'd be helping, too, of course!

Ok - so my buddy AbdallahSmash026 and I (MrAGeezie) will be down for PAX South. This will be my VERY 1st PAX (I'm in OKLAHOMA) but I've been WANTING to go to PAX for SO long! Finally my opportunity is here! I would LOVE to be a Gym Leader although I'll have to develop or think of a team… but I think 9 months will be plenty of time for me to get together a team… right? MAN SO PUMPED!

I wish I saw more people talking about it. You need at least 12 people to do a League. I imagine people will start getting excited about it as South gets closer, but by then it'll be too late to get a league prepped. :/
