Someone suggested link cable battles due to the Wi-Fi being slow. I don't know much about Nintendo DS' yet, so I assumed that I might be able to buy a link cable to use. Guess not, if it's wireless.
My sister and I just figured out how to get hers hooked up to our wireless, so she is frantically pming people on one of her sites for friend codes

There are two wireless modes on the DS: WFC, which actually goes through the Nintendo servers, and the local Wireless, which is slightly more reliable.

at PAX prime, I had only 2 disconnects out of the many battles I did.
I can garuntee that local WI-FI pattling is VERY reliable compared to online battling.

And by local wi-fi the professor of course means the built-in wireless connectors that work exactly like link cables, just to make it perfectly clear.

Ah, thank you for that clarification. I got another one this afternoon when I saw that the DS light was red and I went to get new batteries.
It doesn't need batteries? Woot. Thought it would be easier if it did, due to the long days of PAX.
