PAX Pokemon League

At one point we were thinking about handing out stickers for challengers. You can always stick them to your PAX Pass... which should be hanging around your neck at all times! It'd be pretty visible.

Hopefully, once people start earning badges, you can just start looking for people who are wearing a few badges!

You know what? Maybe we DON'T need an identification sticker... after all, PPL really wants to spread by word of mouth... so, Morganstern, if you want to challenge people, you should ask them! Find someone with a DS and ask them if they're challenging the PPL, and if they're not, tell them they should! Even if we had stickers or wristbands, if it's only a few people who know about us, it's going to be hard to find anyone (and chances are they'll have a badge or two anyway, so you wouldn't need the sticker) whereas if you don't have stickers or wristbands, you have an excuse to go up to people and tell them about PPL/challenge them in battle!

I have a feeling, though, if you earn some badges, people will be asking you about them...

Winning badges was a great way of exposing PPL to the masses at Prime last year. I love my badges I won so much and I showed them to everyone I talked to.

I know it's kinda late now, but I wanted to revist this topic with the perspective of someone who's attended PAX.

Challengers seemed to quite easily find each other as soon as they started earning badges. People had badges as early as Friday morning and I witnessed a few people starting to talk because they spotted each other's badges on their hat/jacket/bag strap. I don't think anything extra would be needed!

Just to throw this out there... if stickers ended up being used... I work for a printing company and could print them free of charge.

This extends to other things, within reason. Anything paper-based, there's a chance I'd be able to do. Stickers, cards, possibly magnets (The magnet paper is a bit expensive and little harder for me to get away with.), stuff like that.

How about some sort of badge like the badge to get into PAX, something you could hook to a lanyard? There's certainly no shortage of lanyards available at PAX for free. I could print the cards. They wouldn't be quite as sturdy as the PAX badges, so you'd have to be a little more careful with them, but a heavier weight cover stock should suffice. Could be something simple with some kind of PPL challenger logo. It identifies challengers to leaders and other challengers and could be another way to advertise the league itself for people who don't about it.
