PAX Pokemon League

Hi all,

As you may or may not know, PPL has an official twitch! We've used it for PAX Prime leader reveals and battle interviews in the past, but why limit its use to only PAX-time? Why not use it all year round?

I know many of our past and recurring gym leaders bring their teams of the past with them each PAX. One of the things I'd like to suggest is a throwback theme battle, where challengers or other leaders with streaming capability use our twitch to show off their past teams/get to challenge old leaders for the fun of it.

Another might be a seasonally themed round of battles, to give challengers and prospective gym leaders a real taste of what it means to run a mono type team.

If anyone is interested in participating or helping out with this, feel free to post here! More ideas are also welcome! This is very much in the brainstorming phase, so any input is valued

How about streams of other Pokemon games, such as battles between people in Pokemon Stadium or even some Pokemon Snap or Smash Bros with Pokemon characters.

I am game for anything.

Shifting future PPL podcasts to twitch may need a little work but I'm sure I can figure something out, I have some of the tools I need but not all. I'll research a few options and see what I can do.

Edit: Well that was easy, a bit of free software later and I have everything I need. Will still need to do up a few art assets and do a great deal of tinkering though.

I'd love to see some more content from PPL on Twitch. I'm on there every day already so why not add some more Pokemon to what I watch lol. I loved the team reveals for Prime, especially because I wasn't able to go so it gave me a chance to battle a couple gym leaders. I'd be glad to help wherever I can. Unfortunately I don't have a capture card so I can't stream myself, but I could jump on skype with someone who has one and help host the stream and get some battles going. I could also mod the channel or help pick viewers for battles or anything like that. I'm free most nights after work so I'm available.

I'd be up for doing stuff.

Looks like we've got interest! Now for the harder part, transitioning to a real deal.

We'll probably limit the twitch to PPL activities on ORAS/equivalent only, if only to simplify the equipment needed (no additional console capture cards required). Sounds like a couple of you already have capture cards? Anyone who does not already have one will need to pair up with those that do in order to stream. Since the interested parties favor those without, we can set up a rotation so there's more opportunity to see a variety of Leaders/prospective Leaders. PM me if you have a capture card to confirm this-and we can start talking about time/availability!

To those interested that do not already have a card, I'll set up a google spreadsheet so people can list their approximate available times (this would be very general, like "weekdays after 6pm EST"). If you're a former gym leader, and are willing to bring out your old team, please list that too!

As a related thought, what would you all think of a PPL youtube channel specifically for PPL battles? (I imagine it would be mostly playlists of past PAXs linking to vids challengers have already put up of their [iqfi]Heart Pounding Leader Battles[/iqfi] to start with.)
