Johann can barely remember meeting Lapras. How could he, He was only 2 when he wandered off from his parents gaze, and fell from the S.S. Spiral. The alarm was raised as the toddler hit the icey cold waters of Snowpoint City and began splashing about in vain. The commotion and muffled cries of the boy were enough to catch the attention of a passing mother Lapras and her offspring. She darted over and plucked him up, placing the crying child on her shell as she swam to shore. Johann was saved and from that day the Lapras became like a second mother.

One day after his cousin Candice had been appointed the Snowpoint City Gym Leader, Johann decided maybe he should set out on his own quest and make a name as an ice trainer for himself. To do this he needed Pokémon, but not any old Pokémon. He needed to scour the land in search for the strongest, durable, brave, but most importantly faithful Ice Pokémon he could find. He packed his bag, bought some supplies and went to the bay to see off his Lapras family.

Explaining his plans and how he was going to leave was the hardest thing he had ever done. All of a sudden the young Lapras grabbed his bag throwing it to the shore knocking out a few Pokéballs. As Johann bent over to clean the mess, the Lapras snatched a ball and held it out to Johann. “You.. You want to come with me?” stammered Johann in disbelief looking at the Lapras in question. Johann looked over to its mother, who appeared to give a nod of approval. Grabbing the ball from its mouth, threw the ball in the air, a bright red flash enveloping the Pokémon. Giving his Adoptive mother one last hug, Johann turned to leave, tears beginning to roll down his cheek.

Growing up in Blackthorn city and apprenticing under The Dragon Master Clair, young Aspen was destined for greatness. On the day of his graduation, he entered the Dragons Den to claim his new partner Dratini but no Dratini appeared before him. Furious at her protégés failure, Clair exiled him from Blackthorn City, never to return until he could defeat her.

Far and wide Aspen wandered, until he found himself lost in the mountains surrounding Unova. Here, a partnership with a small Tynamo was struck and together they travelled the regions, capturing and training any serpentine Pokémon, as a reminder of the Dratini that rejected him. Now Aspen comes to the PPL, as the final preparation before returning to Blackthorn City.

Come closer young one.. Closer.. Hear this tale I’m about to tell you. There once was a young lad named Harro. Now, Harro wasn’t anything special however that is not to say he wasn’t destined for some cruel test of fate. As he grew up, he found he wasn’t particular good or bad at anything. He made friends and he made enemies… just like any other lad. He suspected there was more to him than to just grow old and amount to nothing. He was determined to make something of himself.

The irony of all this, is that even though he wanted to become someone special and amazing, he only encountered the normal type pokemon along his journey. At first, he cursed fate for making such a cruel joke out of his determination but he knew if he wanted to prove anything, then he couldn’t stop there. Today, he has become a fierce trainer backed by his normal type pokemon and will rise up to any challenge. The question is, are you up to the challenge? Come and try your luck!

Since he was little, if you wanted to find Glade your best bet was not with the other kids of Snowbelle city but up a tree or muttering to a Pokemon he’d found. He preferred to be alone or with Pokemon and found humans cruel and destructive. Even from a young age he understood Pokemon and their ways far better than he did those of humans. As he grew older this behavior escalated. He formed close bonds with the Pokemon of the forest near Snowbelle and was gifted refuge in it by the forest’s heart, a Pokemon he’d come to call Shima. Tales of the power he gained whilst training there attracted the attention of the PAX Pokemon League. The forest became a gym in its own right, Glade begrudgingly taking up challenges so that any intruders may move on and leave him and his beloved woodland in peace.

In his teens, a Litwick led Dezzles away from his family and into the woods between Celadon and Saffron City. As his spirit was nearly completely drained, a pack of Houndours appeared attacking the Litwick and causing it to flee. After weeks of recuperation from the encounter he was accepted by the pack. Dezzles had become fascinated with the Houndour pack and the power that allowed them to fight of the ghost. After years with the pack, he decided it was time to move on and learn the secrets of other Dark Pokemon. Dezzles is determined to grow stronger, taking up the mantel of Gym Leader, aiming to tame the ultimate Dark Pokemon; Darkrai.
